Projects and Workspaces require that you add users to the team under the "Team" tab. This is to help secure the data and control who can create and update data in a workspace or project.

To help create better access control in the workspaces and projects, we have created four (4) diffrent levels of permission:

  1. Super Admin - A super admin user can create, update, or delete anything in the project. They can also update the basic project info and configure the data studio Note the only way a user can be the super admin of a project or workspace is if they create the project or workspace
  2. Admin -  The admin user has the same rights as the admin user, but they cannot delete the super admin.
  3. General - A general user can create sample collections, audits, notes, space, environmental readings, etc. They can update and delete anything they have created but not what others have created. This is to protect data. Note that general users cannot add, edit, or delete members in the project or workspace, open the the project or workspace in the reporting center, or configure the data studio settings
  4. Read Only - a read only user can do just that... read the data. They cannot create, update, or delete any data in the project or workspace

There is another permission that you might see in your team list from time to time called System User. This is when a member of the Technology Services Department adds themself to a project or a workspace that they are working/assisting on through our backend. These users have all the same rights as a Super Admin and cannot be deleted from the project or w0rkspace.

Super Admins and Admins can add new users under the Team tab of the project or workspace, by clicking on the "Add Team Member" button at the top.
